Newport Wedding Highlights

I joined my friend Michael Cody, an amazing still photographer from New York, for the wedding of Raffaella and Daniel at the Astor’s Beechwood Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. I was assisted with the video shoot by the multi-talented Walter Van Dusen who did a great job getting some tasty DSLR footage for me, and Mike was assisted by second shooter Sherry Pickerell. It was a beautiful and elegant wedding–hope you enjoy these highlights:

Amanda and Rick Rehearsal Dinner

Today I am shooting Amanda and Rick’s wedding at La Posada but a couple days ago I dropped by their rehearsal dinner at The Cowgirl in Santa Fe, New Mexico for a quick video shoot with the 5D II. Great place for BBQ if you’re ever in town!

Last month I was one of the students at the amazing Yin Yang 3 photography workshop, led by Dave and Quin Cheung of DQ Studios and Huy Nguyen of F8 Studio, and hosted by Kansas City’s Wirken Studio (thank you Tyler and Becca!). It was an intense and inspiring experience–I can’t wait to try out some of this new stuff this season!

Cabo video on Infocus blog

My favorite part (about 2 minutes into the video) is when San Francisco photographer Ben Chrisman is almost dragged into the pool by the groom. Brett Butterstein also joined us on the shoot in Cabo for Chris and Tamra’s wedding in late 2007. The wedding was covered by WE TV for their Platinum Weddings show. Foundation Workshop

Last week I had the privilege of attending the Foundation Workshop, an intensive week-long photojournalistic workshop put on by Huy Nguyen and Bill Holland of the Foundation Forum. I had the great pleasure of documenting the workshop on video alongside the official workshop photographers, Anna Kuperberg and David Pullum. (In fact, the only 2 still photographs (below) that I took the entire week were with my iPhone: Sergio, being photographed with another iPhone by David Murray, and a shot while driving on the freeway through Dallas (I do not recommend doing this!)

Thank you everyone for an amazing experience! The instructors, mentors, students, volunteers and organizers were all wonderful–I know I learned so much and can’t wait till next year!!
